Lac Vieux Desert is a 4017-acre lake that extends across the border of Michigan (in Gogebic County) and Wisconsin in (Vilas County). The lake has been home to the Chippewa (Ojibwa) Indians for centuries. It's known for its Musky, Walleye, Bass, and Northern Pike fisheries. Several public access points to the lake support boating, fishing, and water-based sports during the warm weather months.
